Stay Useful
Refunds and remedies
A conservative position that does not touch your statutory rights: no change-of-mind refund after download, and a real remedy if something is actually wrong.
If anything on this page conflicts with your rights under New Zealand law, your rights apply.
Change of mind
Stay Useful is a digital product delivered immediately. Once your access link has been issued we do not offer a refund for change of mind, because the files cannot be returned.
This is our commercial position on change of mind only. It does not limit, and cannot limit, your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
When you are entitled to a remedy
The Consumer Guarantees Act says goods must be of acceptable quality, fit for purpose, and match their description. That applies to a digital product. If any of the following is true, you are entitled to a remedy:
- A file will not open, is corrupted, or is missing from the download.
- The download link does not work and we cannot restore your access.
- A file is materially different from what the product page described.
- The kit is not fit for a purpose you told us about before you bought it.
How to ask
Write to support@stayuseful.co.nz from the email address you bought with, and tell us what is wrong. Include the file name if it is a file problem. You do not need an order number, though it helps if you have the receipt Stripe sent you.
We aim to reply within two working days.
What we will do
For a failure that can be put right, the Act lets us repair or replace first, and that is what we will do: reissue your access, replace the affected file, or send you the files another way.
If the failure is serious, or if we cannot put it right in a reasonable time, you may choose a refund or compensation for the drop in value, and we will act on your choice.
A refund goes back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. It usually appears within five to ten working days depending on your bank.
What happens to your access after a refund
If we refund a purchase in full, the entitlement to that version is closed and the download link stops working. Please delete the files. We do not chase this, and we mention it so the position is clear rather than implied.
If we disagree
Tell us why. If we still cannot resolve it, you can take a claim to the Disputes Tribunal, or contact Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for free advice about your rights.
